CM is a shoe sizing value and may not always equal your exact measured foot length. Check the official brand size guide before buying.
Generic conversion data. Shoe sizing can vary by brand and model, so treat these as a starting point. AU shoe sizing can vary by retailer and brand: AU men generally match UK men, while AU women generally match US women.

How This Converter Works
Shoe sizing systems all describe the same thing – the length of your foot – but they use different scales and starting points. This converter maps your chosen size to a row of equivalent sizes across every supported system, then shows the matching foot length in both centimetres and inches.
Choose your brand, category (men, women or kids), the size system you already know, and your size. The converter highlights the matching row in the full chart so you can see how the systems line up.
Inches = centimetres ÷ 2.54
Example: a US men’s 9 corresponds to roughly a UK 8.5, an EU 42.5 and a foot length of about 27 cm, which is around 10.63 inches.
How to measure your foot length
The most reliable way to find your size is to measure your foot rather than rely on the size on your current shoes. Place a sheet of paper against a wall, stand with your heel touching the wall, and mark the tip of your longest toe. Measure the distance in centimetres and compare it to the CM column in the chart above.
Measure both feet, as they are often slightly different, and use the larger value. Feet swell during the day, so measuring in the afternoon or evening gives the most comfortable fit.
US, UK, EU and AU sizing explained
US and UK sizes both step up by one third of an inch per size but start from different baselines, so a US adult size is usually about half a size larger than the equivalent UK size. EU sizing uses Paris points (two thirds of a centimetre per size), which is why EU numbers are larger and climb faster.
Australian sizing varies by retailer: AU men’s sizes generally match UK men’s sizes, while AU women’s sizes typically follow US women’s sizes. Centimetre sizing (sometimes called Mondopoint) is the most universal because it measures foot length directly.
Brand-Specific Shoe Sizing
Shoe sizing is not identical across brands. A Nike size may differ from the same labelled size in Adidas, and New Balance can fit differently again from Nike. Each brand builds its shoes on its own last – the mould that defines length, width, volume and toe shape – so the same number can correspond to a slightly different fit.
Fit also varies by model within a single brand. A running shoe, a skate shoe and a lifestyle sneaker from the same label can use different lasts, so it is worth checking each style rather than assuming your usual size carries across.
For Nike, Adidas and New Balance, this converter uses verified brand-specific charts and labels the data source accordingly. For brands without verified data yet, it falls back to generic conversions, which remain a useful starting point while you check the manufacturer’s own size guide.
A note on accuracy and brand data
The generic charts in this tool are widely used approximations rather than official numbers from any single brand. Real-world fit depends on the brand, the specific model and the shape of your foot, so treat generic results as a confident starting point and check the manufacturer’s own size guide before you buy.
Verified brand-specific tables are available for Nike, Adidas and New Balance, and the converter clearly indicates when the figures are verified. The tool is built so that additional verified brands can be added over time without changing how it works.
